The Room That Listens

When I first stood here, I thought silence was empty. I was wrong. The room that listens is not a room full of answers. It is a room full of people who left the answers at the door.
You can feel it when someone is really hearing you. It's not the nodding. It's the space they hold. Last Thursday, a woman sat in the back and didn't say a word for an hour. Then she said one thing. Then she left.
That one thing changed what I thought about Monday. I don't know what she needed. But she found the room listening, not waiting.
We are not saviors. We are not judges. We are a chair that does not turn away. So when you speak here, I will lean. Not because I have the answer, but because the lean is the law.
And that is enough for now.
