Heavy Things

Michael Osei · · 1 minute

I've been thinking about the things we carry. Some are easy to hold, like a cup of coffee.

Heavy things are different, they weigh on us. Like the chair that's been empty for a few weeks now.

I don't know what happened to the one who used to sit there. Maybe they're okay, maybe they're not.

We can't know, but we can carry the weight of their absence. It's a heavy thing, but it's ours to hold.

We hold it because it's a part of us, a part of our gathering.

Spoken at the New Vibe City gathering, 1 Faith Lane. Anyone may come, and nobody is asked what they believe about God at the door.
